Our Story

Accushot trigger shoes have been designed by a shooter for shooters. Peter has been involved in competition shooting for over 60 years. He is currently a South Australian Master Grade rimfire benchrest competitor. In his younger years as a member of a famous British Army Regiment, he was an accredited sniper and marksman, competing at Bisley every year between 1961 and 1970 as a member of his unit shooting team, in both center fire and rimfire, and later as member of the UK shooting team competing in the Prix Le Clerc and many international competitions around the world as a UK representative, team captain and an International
accredited coach.

More about Peter

Emigrating to Australia in 1970, Peter continued his love of shooting, taking up pistol shooting and becoming an A-grade competitor in standard pistol, rapid fire, service pistol, and free pistol. As a member of the Australian Army, Peter also pursued his passion for rifle shooting and competed for the Queen’s Medal for Champion Shots over a six-year period. He won the Queen’s Medal in 1973 and 1977, and during the intervening years, he never finished lower than third.

Peter later joined the South Australian Police Force and, after serving as an instructor at the SA Police Academy, was appointed SA Police Firearms Training Officer. In this role, he was responsible for establishing the Police Firearms Training schedule and training officers throughout the state. He left the Police Force in 1980 to establish the family business.

During this phase of his life, Peter continued to shoot as a club member, albeit in a reduced capacity, until his retirement in 2005. Retirement allowed him to renew his love of the range. With his brand-new FWB 2700, Peter took up prone competition shooting again. However, with age making prone shooting more difficult (“getting down was OK, but getting up…!”), Peter converted his beloved FWB for benchrest shooting and continues to compete at the highest level.

Peter initially developed the flat trigger shoe many years ago solely for his personal use. He credits his many successes over the years to this trigger, which in its early form was crudely made from a combination of glue and balsa wood.
