Pete’s Coaching Tips
- You are using a new shooting process, learn to use it first. The Accushot t rigger is going to feel different, you will have to readjust your shooting habits. This can only be done via a non-live-shooting training schedule; Dry firing training is, and always has been the key to success. Read the instructions, make sure you have the correct tools on hand (Hex key). Practice installing and removing the trigger shoe. Once you have the shoe in place to your satisfaction, leave it alone.
- Set the firearm up on the rest and or bags in the firing position, bealways safety conscious.
NO LIVE AMMUNITION TO BE ANYWHERE NEAR AT ANY TIME!!! - Load a training unit into the breach (either an empty case for centre fire or for rimfire a plastic training round or 5mm raw plug).
- Get yourself into your normal shooting position. it is essential your shooting style is as if you were live firing this includes sighting on the target. You will very quickly realise “it feels different”
- Make each shot, adjusting as required and continue to do so until you can do it without thinking about it.
- On your next visit to the range do the same thing only this time with live ammunition.
The time you spend on productive training will enhance your confidence and be reflected in your results. It is not magic, the harder you work the more success you will have.
To summarise, notwithstanding all the skills that are required to make the perfect shot, it is usually the final human interaction with the firearm, namely the final finger pull, that causes most of your poor shots. The Accushot Trigger shoe will assist you, the shooter, to overcome these inherent trigger problems and will improve your target accuracy
